Poland-Greece was just a weird game. Poland started the game looking totally in charge, the ref sent off a greek player for no reason, Greece was done...right? Instead they come back looking the better side in the second half and I don't know if Poland thought they had won too soon or what happened, but if it weren't for a missed penalty Greece could have won.
Entertaining for the drama.
Much more entertaining instead was Russia-Czech Republic, nice, fast paced game. Russia really got counterattack and offside trap down to a science (Advocaat's hand is very visible there). The result punished the Czechs too much, but they need to adjust their defense, every Russian play looked like a counterattack...even when Czech rep wasn't attacking. How can you get caught off guard 20 times in a game?
Czech I believe is better than the result, and maybe this loss will give them focus for the next important game vs, Greece.
Russia needs to saty focused and don't celebrate but they really looked good and it was a pleasure to watch a game where both teams just went all-in from the beginning.
It will be worth watching Poland-Russia next as the Polish co-host the competition and a loss will send them home packing...well, they are already at home
Well, Russia did well today, but I need to see them against better teams. That stuff of transforming every pass in a quick counter attack won't work with better organized teams like Germany-Spain and others.
But in the end, you gotta make it through the group stage to have hopes and they are off to a good start. Because of the draw in the other game, if they defeat Poland they are already qualified to the next round.
Tomorrow big games on paper, and often is big games that end up being a bit disappointing. I am looking at Holland-Denmark as possibly more fun to watch than Germany-Portugal. Group B is rough!
I'll watching Germany-Portugal in a German bar in lake Worth to enjoy the atmosphere, then off to Miami on Sunday for Italy-Spain, it's gonna be huge (the fans, the atmosphere...).
So, I am looking at a weekend with wienerschnietzeln and beer first, then spaghetti amatriciana, tapas and wine...I love putting food and drink together with soccer!

That sounds crazy fun. Unfortunately, I will be at work so I'm going to have to miss all the games on Sunday. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch glimpses of the game during the day like I did back when the World Cup was going on. I worked retail then and we had our TVs turned to the games, and it was hilarious seeing various associates keep an eye on both the customers and the nearest TV.
I could see Russia getting to at least the semi's.
That won't happen. In the Quaters they are gonna meet someone from Group B(DEATH), most likely Germany or The Netherlands...
