The European Club Association are pushing ahead with plans to try and create regional leagues, for example seeing the Dutch and Belgian league amalgamated. Scotland's top clubs, understandably, want a slice of the in the sky pie, with Aberdeen, Celtic, Hearts and Rangers all set to discuss the plans at a meeting with the SPL, SFA and SFL in the near future.

BBC Sport - Scottish clubs consider regional European league idea

Good idea? I am warming to it actually. There has been talk of an ''Atlantic league'' for a few years now. Scotland, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Denmark and Sweden would have there teams play in this league.

Sounds to me that it's only getting more air time right now due to The Rangers being dropped down into the bottom tier of Scottish football and this would allow them to return to glory much faster.

So what happens when say Ajax gets a huge investment and totally dominates that for decades ? Where do you go from there ? Form a new super league for the teams that dominated that super league ?

Every team should play in its own nations league IMO. If they have a problem with teams dominating then I suggest the FA look at salary caps and monitor finances so that teams are on a more level playing field if they want to.

We don't dominate in Scotland anyway might aswell have a crack at this, going to Rotterdam, Stockholm, Brussels and Copenhagen following your team sounds like fun also

I wouldnt like it if I was in Ireland and we had been invited. I love my deep routed hatred for the teams we have played for 100 years.

Trip to Copenhagen would be awesome. Been there done that, Lazio vs FCK and BIF vs Shelbourne in two days. Wouldn't like them to be in my league though.

I think it would be good and an Atlantic league could rival the big European leagues with teams like Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Ajax, Feyernoord, PSV, Anderlecht, Copenhagen, Brondby, Gothenborg, AIK, Rosenborg, Brann etc all big supported teams with proud European history. And all cities closer to each other than in countries like Russia, USA, Brazil etc.

But I dont think the likes of Ajax and other teams would like to lose their CL place. At least a few of them would because of all this competition. I also dont think Rangers should be let in. Those pricks screwed up big time and need to learn their lesson.

Hopefully UEFA/FIFA will not allow players to play international football etc too if it happens.

I couldnt fathom not having local derbys and the long dredges to a hole in the middle of nowhere.
