It wasn't pretty, but, all it takes is that one chance.
the new back line did it's job, with the help of an amazing Tim Howard.

Yeh Howard for sure was a hero. Great result for the team though.

Are you happy that you won? Are you not worried by the lack of attacking threat?

USA has never been super attacking or threatening IMHO so the win is a great one. They kind of remind me of Ireland a bit in that regard.

We play a counter-attack style imo; which sometimes works sometimes doesn't.

Dempsey, Bradley and Altidore were not in the lineup. The squad sent to Azteca should have easily lost on paper. The defense was sloppy and if it wasn't for a Howard miracle it would have been a draw at least. At the end of the day, though, a win is a win and we finally won in Mexico. It was a great day.

But friendlies aren't for grinding out results, they are there for practice really. Throw the youngsters on, try new formations, play with freedom etc. England and Scotland done it and I can see their managers learning tons from their games.

There is no friendly versus Mexico. Every game matters to both sides.

Youngsters and those with little experience were featured last night. Take out Howard and, I think, Donovan had more caps than the rest of the staring XI combined.

I recognize that. We played against The Netherlands wednesday and nobody saw it as a friendly here .

Anyway, congratulations to the USA for winning the game. What I like so much about your team is the fighting spirit: never give up, do-or-die. That's the way to go!
