Cosmos will dominate the NASL and will eventually move on up to MLS

I much prefer the European style club names to American ones like KC Chickens.

Considering that the Kansas City Wiz/Wizards was only averaging 10k and now they are selling out above capacity with a season ticket waiting list, I would say it worked in that market. On top of that, their merchandise sales have increased over 1000% since the rebrand. They sold $1 million in merchandise in the first 2 weeks of last season after only selling $50,000 in all of 2009.

If I may add, they left out El Paso....
I hope the MLS is thinking about the television markets and ticket sales to sustain a profit in majority of the US cities.

Of course they are. It's all part of the process. But, ownership group is by far the most important. Portland, Seattle, and Kansas City have all shown what solid, motivated ownership groups can do while Robert Kraft, in one of the largest markets shows what a ****ty ownership group does.

I would love to see a team in Miami again - but it would have to be in an indoor facility and in Miami proper.

I can't see sitting in a hot stadium during the summer months and the product on the field would suffer too.

I feel like if you're trying to market yourself as an AMERICAN team, than you should have American names.

Just don't really feel "Real Salt Lake" or "Chivas USA". Just not original, ya know?

How is an American style name original then ? Its all been done. Six of one, half dozen of another if you ask me. I do prefer.traditional names vs American style names though.

I guess this particular sport can get away with that. But it still just doesn't feel right.

#1. The only way I'd support MLS expansion is if it becomes a two tiered league with promotion and relegation. There's no way our top flight league should have more teams than the EPL.

#2. All of those rust belt and iffy sun belt cities are a bad idea. The league is growing, but they have to understand who their big audience is and will continue to be for the foreseeable future: young, college-educated lefty white people. My top choices are Raleigh and Austin. San Diego might work too, also Atlanta and Minneapolis.

#3. The only European style name I support is (Insert City) FC, or maybe something else creative, like naming a team after a neighborhood or landmark. What I don't like are names that are obvious copies of well known UEFA clubs that make the league sound like a minor league aimed at snooty hipsters who think they're too refined for the NFL.
