Getting to the point where there are some interesting battles for positioning heading into the playoffs

Seattle had a big win last night and watching that game a fantastic environment all night long - maybe not the most visually pleasing game, but the emotions made up for it

Some cool pictures from last night

it was hard to watch that match last night with Seattle and Portland because of that awful carpet they play on. What's the reason Seattle can't get their own stadium?

They've certainly got the revenues and their owner is a billionaire. MLS won't let them spend their revenue on players, why not build a stadium? Is it city politics or something?

they have a stadium and the field is fine

doesn't impact the quality of play in any way, shape or form

in fact, one of the main reasons the stadium was built and gained public favor was due to it being a dual purpose stadium .... no chance in the world they'd build a 2nd one when they already funded that one (also built into the stadium is a fairly large expo center, public art and a whole bunch of stuff that led to a very narrow passage for the stadium bill)

The field is not fine, kicking up all that dirt when running isnt good at all. The ball doesnt bounce on that surface right either. Its horrible pitch to play on. They have by far the best fans in the league but that doesnt matter when their pitch is crap.

it isn't dirt and it is fine and the ball bounces fine

the surface is used in many stadiums all over the world and it's just something that people like to complain about

similar to american football where you have the "it must be grass" mindset - even though the grass wears down and frequently plays like slop

there is no perfect surface that is going to be 100% every time out ... it's just a matter of weighing pros/cons

my biggest gripe about the surface and the dual use is that the endzones aren't painted blue
