That's because I made the mistake of thinking people might be interested in an honest answer to the question asked in the original post. If you couldn't handle the answers, you shouldn't have opened the thread. But once again, the soccer fans illustrate that they're not interested in hearing the answer from people who aren't part of their precious, snobby club.

Here is an example, this guy won't shave his beard until a Washington DC team wins a championship. He includes Redskins, Wizards, Capitals and nationals. When I asked him about DC United, the most successful team in DC, he told me he doesn't include them. As if they don't exist.
Soccer fans in the US (and Canada) are really a dull lot. They sure don't know how to celebrate championships like our other sports do which sounds snobbish to me.

I don't hate MLS at all but historically my biggest beef with the league has always revolved around the dumb names and what I perceive to be a lack of self awareness and resorting to stupid gimmicks (not as bad nowadays).

I don't know, when a small business is just getting started stupid gimmicks can bring people in and create buzz and interest. I was fine with what they did, just to get teh league off teh ground.

as for the second paragraph, it has nothing to do with that, trust me, i have tried to get into MLS, but the lack of quality/creativity does not do it for me
