More worrying than that to me is his seeming retardedness in player selections. Look back to the last Euros; in the group stages we outplay Spain, should have won the match. In the finals he completely changes his formation and players, goes another route and we get handled with relative ease. Look at this tournament - continuing to go to the well with Giacherini (I am a Juventus fan and I don't think he should be starting, and certainly not in that position); continuing to return to Aquilani - he was utter crap in the second game so much you had to pull him after 30 minutes, so you go and start him against Brazil? Not giving any real help up top to Balotelli? Even including Gilardino in the squad?

I'm not saying Prandelli should go necesarily ... and I am glad that we play a more attractive brand of football now. But that can be done without sacrificing completely at the other end of the pitch, and it can be done with more wisdom in man management and squad selection.
Eurocopa 2012 - MARCA.com

I remember Italy playing a continuous contrattack, and that was the first time DelBosque didn't use a main striker, bad choose in my opinion. But nothing near to outplay spain, the worst time for spain in that eurocup was against portugal.

Brazil is making too many basic mistakes in the back, a couple again against Uruguay. I generally like the way Luiz plays, but he also does really dumb things at key times (the penalty last night). Also, Oscar completely disappears at times in the game. I need to pay more attention to him, maybe he steps back when they push their back line forward, or maybe he is too passive...not sure. I like the pressure Hulk puts forward, but he can never complete the play...it is frustating. Even though Neymar falls too easy, he is electric.

I think you mean "even though Neymar dives all of the time ..."

On other fronts, as an Azzurri supporter I was not looking forward to this match, but we soundly outplayed Spain in the first half. Worried we wasted too many good chances though ...

I understand what you are saying, but I think he does it different that say, Jordy Alba. Jordy is a true diver, falling with no contact. Neymar seems to look for contact then lifts up both legs and lets the player that contacts him knock him over. It is basically the same concept, falling with minimal contact, he just sells it better.

Fred makes it 1-0 to Brazil. Good start and good atmosphere.

Neymar has been making me eat my words the last few weeks. Very talented player. Needs to cut out(like many), his acting and diving though.
