Yeah, that was an amazing game ... I feel bad for Japan to not get any points because they played their buts off (even if that first pen was utter crap) ... but not too bad considering it was my Azzurri who won. Quite a memorable game ...

Great football matches are the ones when there is something in the ballance. Where there is competition between the sides. Same with any sport - a high scoring match (4-2, 5-3, whatever) might be fun to watch, but who wants to see an uncontested blowout?

To me there are only two possible outcomes from that game - a mind-numbingly boring match where Spain pass it around the back for 60 minutes trying not to embarass the little guy, or else an unsporting, unbecoming demolition of vastly inferior competition.
Come on spain try and break the world record for the worlds largest victory 32-0

Japan looked brilliant last night. A few years ago they had a Japanese manager and all but 2 of their starting line up played in the J league now they have a Italian manager with an attacking philosophy and 95% of their players play in Europe looks like it has payed off!

It sure has. That was a tough loss. I knew when they took a 2-0 lead that it was still gonna be hard for them to beat Italy. They were so close!

Fair play to Japan. Was a great game and losing 4-3 to the Italians isn't a bad thing. Great game.

They should have actually won Italy were extremely lucky. I really enjoyed watching Japan, they have turned into an excellent team.
