Think they would need to sign a few decent players to stay up. I think Premier League pedigree is just as important to them. First few years would be about stability in the PL and then after that, trying to challenge.

Not all the time though. Having the right manager is crucial too. QPR spend loads of bob and got relegated. Have to be careful with who they would buy to.

I'm not talking about how big the clubs are. If they joined the English system, they would have to start at the bottom and would be waiting a few years to get into the Premier League. When they get into the Premier League, they wont automatically become a success. They would need stability for a few years.

It would be very weird if it did happen though. Cant see it happening.

this is never going to happen. Celtic and Rangers(when they get back to the SPL) are never going to give up automatic entry into the Champions League just so they can be mid-table EPL clubs.

Of course they would! They would earn more s. they also wouldn't be mid table for long. They would be bought over after a few years of stability because of their fan base and indestructior.

Celtic and Rangers want a move to the PL. The PL clubs don't. They have sucked Scottish football dry and have no use for it anymore so want to join the PL. They should stay in Scotland. They're Scottish.

Also, the PL is different. Just because they are Celtic and Rangers doesn't mean they are invincible. They will struggle in the PL in my view. At the minute they are big fish in a small pond. Wont be the same in the Premier League.

Also, on their fan base. How many of their fans are also fans of a Premier League club? All the fans in Ireland who say they support Celtic also will tell you that they either support Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.... A lot of their worldwide fanbase are fans of an already Premier League club.

In anyway, I hate both the clubs with an absolute passion.

Going by the article, the honorable David Cameron backs them for a move to the Premier League and not a lower division. So in that circumstance if they expand the BPL or screw it just relegate two more English clubs just for the hell of it then yes Celtic and Rangers would both thrive. Win the BPL ? Not for a long time though, but top 8 finishes for sure with the amount of cash that would be thrown into that vile pool bigotry.

John, as the team sits now yes they would both struggle. But you need to look at the millions that would be pumped into them, they certainly wouldnt struggle with a decent manager.

I am sure those gob****es that say Celtic are Irish would have no problem supporting Celtic & Utd/Pool/Chelski etc. I can see it now, half and half jerseys and scarves galore. It will be a glorious display of Lepregoonery!!!!

I am starting to drool at the thought of it now ... i change my mind ... i would love them to join the BPL for my hilarity!!

I'd hate to see them in the PL. Wont happen so I am not worrying.

Got tickets for the Liverpool v Celtic game in August. I'm not looking forward to seeing all the Celtic fans claiming how ''Celtic are Irish''. Its gonna **** me off.
