Great win for U.S against Honduras. Now sitting high on top with 13 points!

Hats off to Altidore, I once doubted him. Lets hope he keeps on rolling.

How far can we go in 2014?

How was it a great win ? They won which is great but it wasn't a great win. The US limped over a team they should have won by a bigger scoreline. The crowd was crap too.

They can make the last 16 if they step their game up, if they play like they did against Honduras they wont get out of the group stages.

1-0 at home against Honduras is an okay scoreline. we will learn a lot more about this team in the gold cup and in the September qualifiers. but right now the only way the USA makes it out of the group stage is if they get a really weak group.

Well, in history we have always struggled against Honduras. To get a win over them is always a good thing. A 1-0 is still a 3 points gained.

And why isn't Donavan back in MNT by now? Is it him or Klinsmann?

a win is a win.

I think it was a poor choice of venue. 91 degree heat and a small ground that held 20k but looked much smaller. It's really difficult not too look sluggish when you're playing in that kind of heat.

We need a national stadium where we get a definite home field advantage. I'd love to see it in Seattle (if they ever get a grass field)

U can't blame sitting out on a coach. Donovan isn't there and that's his own choice. All the other players are there, and it's time for Donovan to man up, and return to team USA. If he does, all will be forgotten, but if he doesn't his legacy will forever be defined by it.

Who says a win is a win? Don't you want your national team to shine. If a European team beats Moldova 1-0 they wouldn't be happy.

Honduras is a quality team. They qualified for the 2010 world cup.

It is hard to say without knowing what kind of group they will be drawn into. Put the US in any kind of group of death and they are a longshot to get out of it. With a good draw the target would be getting out of the group stages.

I think that the team will probably have a goal set somewhere around the level of making the quarterrfinals, but getting that far would be doing very well indeed. This is a squad still lacking in technical qualities compared to the big footballing nations of the world.
