Obviously they need to practice more diving in an effort to get more penalties.

They're in a big slump and the head coach doesn't know what he's doing. It happens. Teams fall in a rut and can't get out. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't qualify for the World Cup. If they do go to the WC they'll most likely get knocked out in the first round. Maybe the shock of not qualifying can shake things up and their federation can finally build a new program with a new vision.

-Cheers!

I watched a bit of the game yesterday. They would be crossing into the box with one target in the box surrounded by 4 defenders. The chances of that working were miniscule.

I agree with all of your posts. I think they have a good midfield, but their forwards have a hard time getting open, and finishing. Also the timing of their runs(strikers, midfielders), and through passes have been off. Also their defense looks shaky at times. I think it's time for them to bring in some more youth, before they miss out on the WC.

BTW, they have been bad for a log time, you can't pay much attention to the Olympics. The Olympic's teams are made of young players selected form a huge pool of potential future professionals who may or not become a star. Success in Olympic soccer has always showed a poor correlation with success in the professional achievements after that and WC performances.

If Mexico are terrible, which they have looked like for a while, why did Mexico win the Gold Cup?
