Sucks when we are in the same qualifying group as Spain and France, while other countries plays against some miniature island nations.

If Finland performed better at previous Euros and World Cup Qualys, they wouldnt be in that group because they would have been in a higher pot

That's true, but as the level of football is so high and wide in Europe, rising in the pot hierarchy is very difficult, especially when Finland haven't had any luck in the draws. And you have to do it at least twice in a row.

Nearly impossible to beat the two top teams when they have been,

WC -14: Spain, France
WC -10: Germany, Russia
WC -06: Netherlands, Czech Republic, Romania

Euro -12: Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary <- "easiest group"
Euro -08: Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Belgium

My point is that Finland would get a easier group on any other continent every single time, and have a much bigger chance of qualifying.

And even if Finland is a small footballing country, the level of the national team is not that poor. The results during the couple of years show that Finland can hold its own against almost any opponent. With the most notable result being the 1-1 draw away with Spain, being the only team managing to get a single point from the Spanish soil in 8 years.

Germany and Belgium would think otherwise, as they have been unable to beat Finland in the last 10 years, despite trying both four times. Against Germany 4 draws and Belgium 2 wins and 2 draws.

The miniature island attitude and "guaranteed 6 points" ended in the early 80's.

true finland isn't a guaranteed win but still finland doesn't deserve a spot in the world cup they are ranked 43rd by espn and 56 by FIFA so they are not a top 32 team hence they don't qualify.

I have an Idea why doesn't concacaf and south america merge the final round of qualifying. 2 groups of 8 teams or 4 groups of 4 teams with 8 teams qualifying. that would to just to both confederations as concacaf get's to many berth while south america get's to few.

I'm not saying we deserve a place, but it would be nice to have a bit more realistic opponents.

Nice, i didnt know finland was that good. I bet if you play in concacaf or in oceania qualys you would qualify. Sometimes its bad luck, like for example teams like Venezuela or Peru, that are very decent and can hold their own good against very tough opponents, they can never make it to the world cup cause they are in CONMEBOL, but then you got some awful oceania team and, i dont know, Honduras, getting in, come on

Honduras is better than Finland or Bolivia. yes their not a world class team but they weren't that bad in the world cup. they tied Switzerland and kept their match's competitive with Spain and Chile. they are # 30-35 team. a team they won't make it out of the group but still has a reason to be there.

Don't make me laugh. The vast majority of their players play in the domestic league, and having a couple of player playing in the Premier League. If you can get to the national team playing in the Scottish Third Division, that tells everything about the level of the national team.
