Sometimes I wonder if Miamihurricane is just a football hater who is trolling this forum, lol.
Yeah.

Also, Mexico is "just happy to be there"? OK, they are having a hard time qualifying, true, but they have consistently qualified and done relatively well in all of the most recent WCs. Don't think they are in the bottom of the list.

Mexico are dreadful, past is the past - this is up there with the worst Mexican sides.

um do you not remember the circumstances of under which mexico qualified for the playoff? If I were them I would just be happy that my team still has a shot at the WC.

I don't think Mexico currently has a team to go much further than first stage but most of their problems are really poor management. They have a relatively good roster, some mix of Olympic champions and more experienced players that play major European clubs. To say that they are in the bottom 3-4 teams is a bit unrealistic.

They are just going through a terrible phase right now and maybe they will even get beaten by NZ in the playoff, but if they do qualify, there is some time for fixing things up.

If I was cheering for a mid-tier team to qualify for the round of 16, I would not like to have a big name like Br, Sp, Ger or Arg in my group plus Mexico. Not good.

I only watch the highlights, but I'm going to guess Chile (just a team that no one thinks about really).

I say the teams to make the final are: Brazil, Argentina (granted Messi doesn't get injured ), Germany and Holland. If Mexico beats Holland then I think Mexico will go far.

If Chile beats Brazil then Chile will be a top contender for the Cup. If USA makes it out of the group of death, I wager a solid spot in semi-finals or even better, a third place shot.

Chile? You know they have to face Brazil right? If they lose, there will be a riot in Brazil. They can't lose so early. Well hell if Chile loses there might be some disorder as the nation has really really high hopes for their team too.
