My surprise picks would be Colombia and Belgium. Home continent advantage for Colombia and Belgium which have a good, young team. I wouldn't be that surprised to see either of them make a run to the quarterfinals. It all depends on the draws though.

Yet I actually picked Germany over Spain in the ESPN bracket predictor

I think the FIFA has a Brazil vs Argentina Final planned. Refs helping Brazil all the way to final, and Argentina getting easy opponents.

It shouldn't be this way but money talks, and sadly that is what FIFA cares most about, not about true soccer competition.

Well heck I gotta be honest I would love to see that final! That would be crazy! But I doubt it. This cup has been too unpredictable. I doubt it's fixed.

Hell yeah they did. I'm still reeling from the injustice LOL. I'm sure Chileans are stirring in agony.

But that's football. I'm going with Colombia, Argentina, France and Germany for the final four. That's granted if Mexico beat Netherlands.

being bolivian, I root against chile and brasil

I hope for argentina, but they've relied way too much on messi. As good as messi is, even maradona had help to win a WC. He hasn't had that yet and their defense is suspect.

so im going to say Germany vs costa rica in the finals. ( a CONCACAF country will represent I tell you )

Why would you root against Chile? Brazil I understand, they're big dogs but Chile are your neighbors and were under dogs in this tournament.

Because Bolivia wants Chile's beaches po.

Just because someone shares a border wouldn't mean they are friends. Ask a Brasilian what they think of the Argentinean team or a Chilean how much they like Argentina.
