Chile is nowhere near being a "big boy", but being in southamerica might help SA teams. In that case, i see Colombia going much further than Chile.

I agree that colombia is better than chile but the gap isn't that big. chile are without a doubt a top ten team, they just aren't a top 5 team.

What an ignorant answer. Tell that to Paraguay and Ghana in the final 8 last WC. How about Ukraine in the final 8 in 2006. Turkey, USA, Senegal, S Korea in 2002. The WC has so many aspects of chance and luck involved along with skill...good draws, injury, bad days for key players, etc.

This post, unfortunately, brought back memories of the Germany x USA game in 2002. Kahn was amazing that day, and the USA was an uncalled handball on the goalline from extra time with Germany. I simmered over that game for days.

Imagine if the US won that game in extra-time/penalties, it would have been USA x South Korea for a chance to play Brasil in the final game. The final four teams would have been: Turkey, South Korea, USA, and Brasil. Crazy.

Argentina is the first CONMEBOL team that qualifies for the world cup 2014 (besides Brasil, the host) with an impressive 5-2 victory over Paraguay!!

2012 and 2013 have been amazing for the Argentinian NT. Impecable matches, striking wins, Messi, Aguero and Higuan scored more than 25 goals among the 3 of them in the qualies for CONMEBOL, and a ton more in friendlies. Argentina only lost one game in all the qualies and scored 30 goals in total, and won plenty of matches by a big goal difference. Argentina also won against big international teams like Spain, Germany and Italy in the last year.

Also, Argentina haves the best player in the world, and no dobut the best offensive with Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria and Messi.

Thinking that Argentina will sure win this world cup doesnt sound far fetched. In my 30 years of life, i ve never seen an argentinian team quite like this one. We have this one in the bag.

Here we go, Brasil

Argentina have one best player in the world, but the rest are not better than Germanys Ozil, Gotze, Reus or Spains Iniesta or Xavi.

Looks like New Zealand will have to get past Mexico or Panama to qualify.
Not sure whats more likely me seeing a flying pig, or that.
