Who you actually think is going to win, not who you are rooting for, although it may be the same for some.

I voted Germany because I think they have a slight edge to it, but only just. If I were looking at it from a bigger picture I would look at tiers:

Tier 1 - Germany, Spain -

The two front runners. Spain lack a true 9, at least whom they trust, and have some weaknesses. Germany are solid all around and seem to be able to adapt to multiple styles better than Spain.

Tier 2 - Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Holland, France

Argentina have the best collection of attacking skill in the world, home continent advantage and a dedicated Messi trying to leave his mark and finally delivering for the national team.

Brazil are young and prior to the confed cup I would have seen as a tier 3 squad, but as much as the recent tournament was a bit of a mickey mouse tourney I am nonetheless impressed and they do have the home fans.

Holland and France have a load of tallent and a strong look in qualifying rounds. France also dearly want to exercise the demons of recent tournaments. Italy has the grit and experience coupled with some young talent coming up, and are almost always there or thereabouts late in the tournament.

Tier 3 - Belgium, Columbia, Uruguay (assuming they make it)

They aren't going to win the tournament, but they are dark horses who can make a deep run and upset some of the top contenders if things fall right.

Ultimately in the end, who is there will depend on draws and who falls into what groups and such, but if I were to choose favorites for a final I think I forsee a Germany - Argentina final.

Don't think Germany will do it. Think Spain will or Argentina will do it. I will vote for Argentina but I would put my money on Spain

My vote went to Getmany because right now I think they have an edge.

I root for Brazil and hope they come strong to win at home. They seem to be headed to that direction but it's too early to tell.

Biggest deception: my vote here goes to Spain.

Biggest surprise? Colombia. They are doing well in the qualifiers and got a well formed team.

Holland and Colombia play the most attractive football, so i wouldnt mind seeing them win it

if the US were to perform a miracle (lets be honest thats what it would be), that would also work

I'm staying with Germany. They would deserve it, their last major trophy dating from 1996. But I think the heat and the humidity (especially in the northern part of Brazil) might form an obstacle for European teams and their fast-paced, physically demanding football style.

The heat can definitively be a factor for European teams, but the only teams outside Europe that have real chances of winning are Brazil and Argentina, which the vast majority of players are used to the European climate. So, this should not be an excuse.

That said, the major problem I see with the climate is that the match schedule was already set and some teams may be disproportionately injured depending what group they fall during the draw in the end of the year. The weather in the northeast, Manaus and Cuiaba in June-July can be hot and humid, Brasilia also, but not as humid typically. In the other hand, the other venues in the central south and southern part should be pleasant or even a little cool.

Egypt will win by two goals in the final against a very pressured Brazil team.

Book it.

I voted Germany, they are all around solid with a nice set of replacements. I root for the US first and Brazil second.
