I think they have a chance like last year to compete with Bar$a and Ral for the Liga. Milan after they were Midtable last season were able to reach third place and returned back to form. I think Lyon or Marseille have an equal chance for winning Ligue 1. P$G can win it if they avoid the draws and Monaco are promoted to the league it will be difficult to win it as most of the players don't have ligue 1 experience.

Ligue 1 experience is overrated, good players can play everywhere, just look at Zlatan.
Marseille and Lyon not even have a single player that comes close to Falcao, Rodriguez and Moutinho.

Compete like last year?
24 points (and 41 goals) behind the champions and 9 points (and 27 goals) behind the runner-up is not what i would call compete.

exactly it's really sad the way that barca and real get special treatment and can plunder all the other teams in la liga for the TV money. I wouldn't be surprised in barca and madrid set a new record to separate themselves from everyone else in the league. if the money was fairly distributed I think athletico would have won last year and be a favorite this year.

If you recall from last year Atletico were second place most of the league especially the first half of the season and they were only 4 points behind Barcelona. They fell dramatically in the second half but they gave both Barcelona and Madrid a fight unlike the other La Liga teams. After the first game all Four Atletico, Real, Barcelona and Valenica share the lead and I hope it stays like this for long or the second half of the season will be boring like last year

I'll just mention that if you guys are including the french league you have to include the portuguese league. the 2 leagues are virtually tied in the uefa coefficient and equally in terms of quality.

Eredivisie >> Primeira Liga (minus Porto and Benfica) and Ligue 1 (minus PSG and Lyon)
