Good article about the move of Bale and the strength of the Premier League:

The only benefactors in this bizarre saga will be Spurs for receiving a wad of cash for a player not even worth half that to build a new squab and Arsnal for signing Ozil, who is much better than Bale. Arsenal will be genuine title contenders now. Spurs will be up there too.

It potentially looks like a good competitive season in the EPL, unlike the Spanish league which is a two horse race!

Real Madrid fans would probably Bale to score 30 goals or more, nothing less or he'd be a failure.

They're a fickle bunch, they started booing Ronaldo after like 3 games or something where he didn't score.

But isn't football just a 'part' of why Madrid bought Bale? No doubt Bale is a fantastic player, comfortably top 5 in the world IMO, but why pay soooo much? Why lose Ozil when your superstar Ronaldo says Ozil is the best at understanding his runs and where he wants the ball?

I wonder if Real Madrid did this because they think Bale is extremely marketable in Spain because of his outward religiosity. Bale is a holy-roller as was/is Kaka who was bought similarly.

Wouldn't be surprised at all. Real Madrid are a circus, like some German newspaper put it last week (forgotten which one). Selling Özil reminds me of when they sold Makelele. Just stupid in every possible football-logic. And then wondering why they haven't won the Champions League in eleven years .

Now Kaka back to AC Milan. Ozil went to Manchester United. Gareth Bell accounted for a Real Madrid shirt No. 11.
