A good article making a case for the MLS being more popular in the USA in the future.

I can see how Miami would be a top MLS market, considering the demographics of the area.

People follow NFL because it is the best American Football in the world, the reason people follow NBA because it is the best basketball league in the world same for NHL and MLB. MLS is not the best league in the world. The teams are limited in MLS soccer is all about following your local team and local rivalry not artificial rivalries like the Atlantic cup and all of this nonsense. expansion = more fans = more $$$.

check this out. beckham is so confident in miami's mls prospects that he is planning to build a 75,000 seater soccer specific stadium!David Beckham 'to build 75,000-seater stadium for MLS Miami franchise' - Mirror Online

I'm also confident in mls in miami but to expect an average attendance above 60k is just crazy. most clubs in europe don't draw crowds that big.

A 75k seat SOCCER SPECIFIC STADIUM?

I call bullish*t on that. They don't even know what to do with Dolphins Stadium or whatever it's called now and that place hosts Super Bowls.

Good article.

MLS is slowly gaining traction. The level of competition in the league is improving season after season. The league is still young and needs more time to be a power house. In time, when the salaries compare to those of the other major American sports, MLS will be big and other soccer nations will like it, too.

-Cheers.

Miami is a terrible sports town. They rarely sell out the Dolphins and had a championship baseball team which they struggled to sell out.

Too many retirees and folks not interested in sports (at least to pay and attend).
