It seems like there would be no time for cheerleaders. Was it an old exec who knows little of soccer's decision to add cheerleaders?

Do they also shoot t-shirts out of air cannons into the crowd? Do they play that cheesy techno space jam song "are y'all ready for this" too?

I think Sparky the Chicago Fire mascot does shoot T Shirts out into the crowd at halftime. The kids love that stuff, which makes me happy.

Here is my quick overview of a Fire game set up: Fire games have the loud Fire supporters that sing and chant all game at one end (The Harlem End), the other end was a Miller Lite party deck, and the middle is full of people with families. The middle doesn't really sing, although they do join the wave and yell and cheer. If you go to a MLS game, you should sit with the people singing and chanting...that seems to be your style.

Oh yeah, there is the one corner kick area, opposite the Harlem End where these guys bang drums and play horns all game.

Cheerleaders belong at NFL/basketball games IMO and just do not suit football

That's why I think MLS needs to be run by people who actually know international football.

I don't think MLS makes the decision for teams to have dancers. That's up the the team.

The local teams know their market and make those decisions. That's exactly what is done in "international football".

Very few teams in MLS have cheerleaders, I think its foolish to have them but wouldnt complain at the eye candy.

Yeah, it seems like a waste of money when the teams are already pinching pennies. Would someone actually decide not to go to a game because there were no cheerleaders?

Did you look closely at the photos of MLS cheerleaders that were posted? Some of those gals are real heifers. Moo!
