I would hope they NOT conform to what Euro teams do simply because it's "status quo"....

Ajax is not the only Dutch club with a name linked to Greek mythology. I don't think it's weird at all.

Grasshopper Club Zurich - No clue as to the origin but I cannot help but think of the insect

W Connection - Club from T&T. Sounds like a wrestling tag team

Løv-Ham is short for Løvåsen - Hamregården, two places in the Bergen area in Norway. The team no longer exist. The letter "ø" might seem strange to foreigners, though.

Some weirder Norwegian club names:

Brann (Fire in English)
Start (Start in English)

I really dislike the Viking FK club name. It is so cheesy. The battle of Hafrsfjord was 1200 years ago. Just call the club Stavanger.

We like to include corporate names in our club names

Other examples:

SV Josko Fenster Ried (Josko windows)
SV Scholz Grödig (Scholz is a recycling company)
RZ Pellets WAC (RZ Pellets are producing... well... pellets)
SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz (Puntigamer is producing beer)
CASHPOINT SCR Altach (online bets)

and so on...

At least Red Bull is performing rather well and they invest a lot of money... The others just give the clubs a couple of thousand Euros and disfigure their names.
