Also Russia is actually playing a lot better without that clown Capello and his 60s-era tactics

England won all ten of their qualifiers, and the expression flattering to deceive comes to mind.

I've been around long enough to see them do reasonably well in qualification for a major tournament, have the national press and other media hype things up, and see an amateur team turn up for the finals.

I'm not holding my breath for France next year. They are an ordinary team being led by someone who should have resigned after that Brazil World Cup fiasco.

But this is why the England squad flames out in big tourneys - their fans are toxic towards them. I'm not sure any team in any sport plays more nervous and unhappy than the England national soccer team.

Other nations would feel united and optimistic, never England.

Granted it is an expanded field by 8 teams, it's nice to see countries like Iceland, Austria, Albania, Northern Ireland, Slovakia and Wales all qualify. Only Austria has ever qualified and they did so when they were co-hosts back in 2008.

I know I am way ahead of the game but i'd love to see Ireland qualify and be in the same group as N. Ireland.
