Montenegro really screwed their chances today by drawing Liechtenstein. In a group with Russia, Austria and Sweden, a mistake like that could be fatal. They came so close to qualifying for Euro 2012 and WC 2014, it would be a shame if they can't make it to an expanded Euro with this generation of players.

Great scoreline for Ireland, pity we died off the last 20 minutes of each half and didnt get more. Seeing Germany lose though has me worried, I still think Germany can put 4 or 5 past us on Tuesday if they want.

I'm not sure what to think about last night's game. Greece was just as nasty as expected, they scored from their only... half chance, and as they are probably one of the best teams in the world to defend a 1-0 lead, maybe you can be happy that we came from behind to secure the one point. Finland had two chances to score a second goal, but got really tired in the end and Greece was clearly in the driver's seat for the last 15 minutes, so yeah, maybe one point is ok.

Much depends on the Tuesday's game home against Romania. A win there and you can be happy with the 4 points collected.

The goals:

So, wasn't Germany supposed to dominate world soccer for now on? Looks like they haven't been able to handle even Europe...

I imagine its a temporary glitch, they haven't come off the high of winning the WC. They'll win the group and do well in the Euro's.
