I hate game day, it freaking drags by till kick off
I got a good 2.5 hours of work in, but any spare moment all I can think about is the game. I have butterflies like I am going to play, this is ridiculous.
So, wouldn't that mean that Columbia would just get through automatically? Uruguay would only be hurting themselves.
EDIT: It would also look more like they were scared to go on without him. It's clear on video and in pictures that he bit the guy's shoulder. And, since he's been banned for 8 and 10 games before for biting, he KNEW he would end up being banned from games if he did it again. They should be mad at him, and embarrassed by him.
Well, let's face it, USA were lucky to get nil in that game. But no matter, Portugal helped out with their win.

I wonder what all this is doing for the popularity of the game in America? I was in LA in March, and nobody there seemed to know the US were in the world cup.

Stew, depends on where you are in LA. I find that a lot of younger urban folks tend to like soccer here, especially the world cup and euro football/soccer.

Soccer in the U.S. will be big for at least a month.
We made the quarterfinals in 2002 and for a while it was trendy to like soccer.
This republic is just not a soccer country.
The U.S. could win the World Cup(not going to happen) and the only people who would be paying attention to soccer after would be the core MLS fans, and people who get up early to watch Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, or Serie A games.
American football will always be king in the United States.
