WTF Brazil? What the hell happen to your defense? Losing 2 key players is NO excuse for that pathetic performance.

Do you guys think that Germany were relentless in their destruction of Brazil to shake the winner of holland vs Argentina? I get the impression they did it to send a message. Cus that victory was also just brutally cruel. They could've gone to win it 9-0.

Did you guys see how pissed the goalie was when Brazil scored?! They didn't even want Brazil to have a single goal. They wanted to win this without conceding a goal.

2-0 or 3-0 .... maybe Brazil threw the game
What could have been 8-0 (Brazil's goal came right after Ozil missed a goal by inches) ... noway in hell

Several things came together for this catastrophy to happen
- Brazil having their worse national team in possibly decades
- Brazil getting lucky all the way to semifinals - Beating Croatia with the help of the referee, tying with Mexico 0-0, beating Cameroon a team that almost didn't go to the WC to protest their federation, in the round of 16 beating Chile in penalties and in the round of 8 beating Colombia 2-1 with 2 goals from their defenders.
- On the other side you had Germany, a team made up of players from Bayern Munich, similar to 2010 Spain made up of Barcelona players

It was a disaster in the making.... add to that, not having the best two players (Neymar and Thiago Silva) and having an amazingly bad defense midfield.
Also add to that... Brazil getting extremely hyped up because they got to semifinals and are 2 games away from becoming Champions

Grab all of that, shake it up and you get Germany r-ping Brazil.

To be a World Champion, you have to be extremely competitive and expect perfection from yourself and your team.
Germany's goalie and defender (Boateng) were pissed off because Boateng went to defend and all of Germany's defense didn't do anything to help Boateng.
When Oscar got the pass, you can see one of Germany's defender not moving and just raising his hand asking for an offside .... guess what.... you'll never be a World Champion doing that.

I actually thought Germany was being generous by granting them that one mercy goal. The Brazilian defense was downright pathetic.

Pathetic is too nice a word. This was by and large Brazils worst team in nearly a century. They made it to the semis riding on a giant lucky streak. The refs were on their side for some of the group stage games, they just barely escaped a loss to Chile who was the first team, before the Germans, to show how utterly pathetic this selecao actually was until they again got lucky with penalties. Last they fouled their way through Colombia.

It all stopped with Germany who just have an efficient machine of a team.

Peyton lost in front of an American audience of 100+ million. The Brazilians in front of the world.

This shows how insular some Americans are when it comes to soccer. This loss is on a thousand or so news orgs around the world...... I'll just stop right there.
Geez soccer fans ..settle down. Nobody is comparing the Super Bowl to the WC. Why are you guys so defensive about comparing soccer to football? All I was saying is a blowout in a big game (and yes, as much as it kills some of you the Super Bowl is watched around the world also) does not neccessarily warrant a dismantling of a team. Frankly, the team had a meltdown. it shouldn't happen but it does. Germany had a great game plan (as did Seattle) all they had to do was execute and they did. Brazil needs to fix many issues but a 3-1 loss or a 7-1 loss? Still a loss at the end of the day. The only thing of note is there was no doubt goals 3,4,5 Brazil's defense just quit. It was almost like they went into shock. That was odd but again in the spotlight and scope of this game it can happen.

It was a gift to soccer fans from the Soccer Gods. That was a very enjoyable game to watch.
