It started outside the box but it carried on inside the box. The rules say it's a penalty in that case.

The rules dont say its a peno if you manage to fall into the box which is what he did.

Todays the day!!! I expect Argentina to put on a strong performance on its home continent, but the Germans play well as a unit. I hope there aren't a bunch of bad penalties like the last few games. I'm picking Germany 2-1.

As far as I recall, he was still being fouled when he entered the box and then he fell. I'll have to see the replay to be sure. Either way, I would have preferred a free kick + red card for Silva because we would have won anyway but probably by more than 3 goals if Brazil was a man down the whole game. Besides, a free kick from that position would have been a goalscoring opportunity in itself.

Can't believe this is the last game of the WC and we'll have to wait another 4 years for the next one It all went by so fast.

I would say a Red and Free Kick should have been the outcome. Either way the Dutch would still have probably knocked in 3 or so with no peno.

So you watched the game? You said nobody cares. Did the bronze feel like anything or did it not?

You are so biased towards the dutch, it's not even funny. The Netherlands are out and thats a good thing. They had the easiest route to the semifinals. They were one of the most unfairest sides of the tournament which was perfectly displayed at the penaltys against Costa Rica. France progressed further in Euro 2012 than the Netherlands. France blew out Switzerland which took Argentina nearly to penaltys. The Netherlands didn't create any chances against Argentina.

That's why I have no idea why you have to bring up World Cups that were won decades ago or results from friendly games. Everyone knows Germany has a better WC record than us (as well they should have, considering their much bigger population), there's no need to be so obnoxious about it and bring it up when it's not even relevant
That WC record doesn't matter one bit if you don't win any trophies and choke in big games. Germany has more semifinal appearances, more final appearances and more WC titles. Germany is the better team with much better players than the Netherlands, period. I'm just so sick of that anti-german sentiment in the things you write. It's so typical for a small, petty nation like the Netherlands.

Alright probably not but I cannot wait to see this game =)
It depends on how early Germany scores. If they don't, this can become a drag because Argentina isn't going to do anything offensively today.
