Congratulations Germany, a deserving champion.

We had our chances and our players never capitalised on them. Oh well...

Why do I get the feeling that there's an ego that sets in with some of these players? And when they lose, their tears aren't so much because of the loss of the game, but because they DIDN'T get to emerge as a national "hero" as they thought they would.

Overall a deserving champion for sure, one of the best teams in the tournament.

Argentina will have its chance, Messi still has a few years in him

That's probably what the Spaniards said 4 years ago when it was given to Sneijder

Lately they have been giving the ball to the best player in the losing team.

Sniejder was amazing though. Messi was good too but there were way better players.

The closing of World Cup 2014 has arrived.

Regardless of who we individually rooted for, this was yet another beautiful moment in humanity - free from politics and religion.

We witnessed tears of sadness, and tears of joy.

We witnessed our human frailties, our flaws, the worst in us (e.g., Suarez infamous bite).

We also witnessed footballers assist counterparts to their feet, help them stretch their cramped limbs, laugh with them, sometimes taunt them, and at the end, exchange jerseys with them.

May life, health, and good fortune allow each of us to be here again - right here at this site; or preferably, at the host nation for the 2018 World Cup.

Thank you all for sharing this wonderful moment!

Life is beautiful and . . . We are ONE!

Agree 100%. At least one, and possibly two Argies should have been red-carded -- but, hey: the Italian referee appreciated all the Latin theatricals. Very sweet to see Scweinsteiger go off with his face streaming blood from a sneak punch, then return patched-up to be part of Germany's well-deserved victory.
