admittedly a bit clueless on the finer points of futbol but find myself watching and enjoying many of the games that I am catching on-line and broadcasted by ABC. I am also amazed at the technology that goes into those orange sleds that they rush out to put the worst of the injured players into that quickly enables their quick return to action.

Excellent win for USA today. Pepe's suspended for the next match, making at least a draw more likely.

England vs. Uruguay on Thursday: Crucial match for both of these teams, a will probably cost the manager his job.

That was a fantastic win last night, I am sore from shouting. Its always good to play crap and still manage to grind out a result. Germany will easily put 4 past the USA if they put in that kind of performance against them. Our defence was OK, midfield was non existent really and our strike force was pretty poor even after Altidore left. I am raging that we left Donavon at home, we need him now more than ever.

Performance wise we where on par with Portugal in their game against Germany. I think we can scrape a result come Sunday but well have to step up our game big time.

While last night's game was exciting and it's great that the US won, they cannot expect to play like that again and beat Portugal, or have any chance against Germany. I also cannot understand why Ghana would not have started Boateng.

I think Ghana where cocky and expected to beat the USA again without much issue. I think had US not rocked the boat after 30 seconds it couldve been a different result, we where lucky Ghana where kind of useless in the final third for a long period. Had Boateng started I think it would have been different from the get go.

Yes..that and the magic water bottle where these apparently seriously injured players are back in the game in seconds! Where can I get my hands on that stuff...

Those sleds get em off the field quicker, who cares about how quickly they want to come back on! I remember "the olden days" when it was the "magic sponge" that physios used to bring on ...
