Yes, they are. But the Netherlands struggled to beat the Australian Socceroos by a 3-2 score, and Germany has tied 2-2 with Ghana.

After those results, I'm no longer very impressed with Germany and the Netherlands.

But France is still impressive.

Exactly. All teams have showed weakness. Most of the teams are all equally matched. That's why this cup is turning out to be one of the best ever. It seems like everyone's pretty much caught up to the usual suspects.

I love that though. All the games have been practically grudge matches. This cup is like Hunger Games compared to South Africa.

The refereeing in this WC has been abysmal at times. Only downside to this WC so far.

As pumped as I am for the US-Portugal game today in hopes the US wins (even though I think they will lose bad...) I am REALLY pumped to finally watch Cristiano on the pitch. Dude is world-class, and dude has a world-class haircut too. God-like tier facial aesthetics and talent.

oh well

i think they are amazing: chile and colombia. but its nothing southamericans didnt know before. just europe and usa discovering the obvious.

Argentina and Brazil underperforming but still superpowers who can wake up any minute.

Chile is the best discovery during this WC. I didn't know much about this team, and they showed a really good game.
I'm impressed by France too, most people here thought they would lose like in 2010.. But they are not only good, but fair-play and nice in front of the cameras. Quite a change in 4 years.

My bet for the cup are Germany, Chile or Brazil. I don't think France or Holland will go further than the quarters, they play a nice game but lack concentration.

At this point maybe the US should follow Brazil?? Take it a game at a time and concentrate. That's about 5700secs with overtime. Snooze for one and you could be out like the above. I'm thinking the Brazilians are so good it's because they truly understand the psychology of playing the game. It's like they play calmly and seriously to their championships. They arguably handle WC pressure the best....individually and collectively.
