I don't know about that. Brazilians are all all keeping their lead in WC wins. If Germany wins they will get too close with 4 championships and tie with Italy. If Argentina wins they will get to 3 and still be 8 years away from matching with Brazil, if they win every WC for now on, that is.
You remind me of the Sunset Boulevard movie character Norma Desmond, a faded silent movie star who lives in a fantasy world and still thinks she's a big star.
It would but wouldn't it also guarantee his ouster?
That's why it would be epic, haha. Of course it's not her fault, but it's funny how the results of the World Cup change the voting intentions. If Brazil had won, her reelection would be guaranteed.

Your team of course would take 20 years... Except they can't really win a WC. Gotta love the haters, but the sore losers and haters are the best
The game was poor and nervous at times, but it had some beauty at times. This was not a game for attackers but defenders. I suggest downloading the game for every young full- and centre-back out there and follow how good the defence played in both teams. Kuyt and his wide movement troughout the pitch was a joy to watch, and likewise for example the game of Mascherano and Demichelis, or Vlaar and de Vrij. And as the game was so nervous, every half of a chance was thrilling, as they came so seldom, but looked dangerous at times.
And a penalty shootout is never boring, naturally.
It seems that people can't appreciate football if the defense is anyway half decent. Much better to have a team completely implode and concede 5 goals in 20 minutes because that is "good football" Some people should stick to basketball.
I want to see our president giving the trophy to Messi, it would be epic.
I can't think of any worst case scenario for a Brazilian sports fan than what you just said. It's already bad enough that Brazil had such an embarrassing lost in the semi-finals as a host nation, let alone having Argentina of all teams, win the World Cup Final right on Brazil soil. I can't think of anything in sports that would rival that level of misery and anger. If Argentina wins on Sunday, lets just hope the entire country of Brazil doesn't riot.

I totally agree. The New York Times blog was pretty embarrassing to read. They kept making snarky comments about how bad both teams were. I mean, c'mon, they didn't both fluke their way into the semifinals. And I think it's insulting to say they didn't try to score. There were a lot of intense moments near goal.
Anyway, sorry about the Netherlands. They did fight hard. I think you are being very classy about this as well.

Football needs some in-depth knowledge to appreciate all parts of the game, and those who watch it simply because of the goals miss a lot of the beauty. But everyone can naturally get this knowledge, you only have to watch a lot of games in your life. Or even better - play some.

Fair enough, considering the current mood right now. But maybe it brings some consolation. One more win to end the tournament, trashing the hosts, and bring something home. I don't know, it would do it for me. And it may be a good match, like this one in 2002:
Poor quality, but love the graphics and the endless goooooools.
