The Thrashers have been used for the National Hockey League.

Although it would be logical to continue with a bird theme, several Major League Soccer teams have adapted European names like FC Dallas.

The mayor of Atlanta is not impressed with your suggestion.

I'm 99.9% sure that the team will also be called "the Falcons". My personal wish though is that Arthur Blank consolidates the club name of both football teams to just "Atlanta Football Club", with a Falcon as the club mascot.

This way there will be cohesiveness between both teams in the club...and zero need to change signage for football and soccer matches.

You are so smart. It would be a bit confusing for the fans.

"Hey, I'm going to the Falcons game tonight. Do you want to come I have an extra ticket."
"Sure, I didn't know there was a game."
---later----
"Wait, why is everyone wearing helmets?"

I think the mayor is still upset about Atlanta losing its NHL franchise to Winnipeg.

How many times do you need to remind us your ''different''?

If Japan, Iraq and Europe use the same system they must all be the same I guess!

I don't understand how it would be confusing. Luckily we live in a world with things such as schedules, newspapers, the Internet, and TV to tell us what exactly is happening. Not to mention, who's just going to randomly plop down money for an event an not knowing what they are paying for? Even if some one did just randomly buy a ticket, NFL games will only ever happen on Sunday, Monday night, or Thursday night. Their clue will be that it's not one of those days.
