No, sorry. Those were two totally separate topics. I just asked if Altidore would be in next game and that bradley is just running on fumes.

Yep.

Nice effort to hold off the Germans...they weren't playing for a draw. I didn't think they would.

Also, let's not call them 'krauts.' Seriously.

As the game went on today, I noticed Bradley staying back more and Jones pushing forward. This may be a better combo than Bradley up front. Less pressure on Bradley to create, which he has not done so far. I think Bradley is better when the game comes to him instead of him pushing the game.

Although Jones is a bit sloppy with passes, too.

So besides Belgium who else is vying for the top spot on group H? Who else can the US play?

Jones is what is known as a box-to-box midfielder and he is pretty good at it from what I can see. He gave the Germans more problems than any of our other players today. I agree that Bradley should stay back more and play the holding role. For one thing, if he does push forward and USA get caught on the break, he simply doesn't have the pace to get back.

I would also like to see Beasley getting forward on the overlap more often. As a former winger, he should have the pace and guile to cause problems.

And Algeria!

Although Belgium is no laughing matter. They're not Germany but they're still good.

Yes, Algeria.

That will only happen if South Korea defeats Belgium and Russia loses to Algeria.

The U.S. plays the winner of Group H and at this point it can only be Belgium or Algeria.

That makes the afternoon games somewhat interesting to watch.

Beasley is best going forward, he plays like me on defense...gets beat, then recovers, then gets beat and recovers in time. He looked really good today though. There was one time he did two cut backs and beat three defenders running up the left wing. It reminded me of Maradona...that's a joke, but it looked good. I like when he or Fabian are pushing forward, they both create problems when pushing forward.
