There wouldn't be a cow milked from Mizen to Malin and from Belmullet to Bunclody for week.

Ok so you are Irish. Sorry about that mate. Now speak American, LOL. By that you mean no one would come into work because they'd be hungover from all the celebrating, eh?

The FAI can have the word "Football" in their name till the cows come home. It doesn't change the fact that the most commonly used word to refer to the sport in Ireland is "Soccer". You can argue about "official" this and "official" that all you fvcking want. It doesn't change the reality on the ground.... which is that the word SOCCER is the most commonly accepted term for the sport in Ireland, by the people of Ireland in their everyday language and by extension in their media outlets, as I have demonstrated.
I know very few people that use the term soccer. Its Football to the vast majority. Even the gaa heads say football and gaa that I know of.

The english formed a football association (the website for the english football association, the fa cup and the england football team). All european countries formed their own footballl associations. The same way the basketball association was formed in the usa (nba). The name of the sport has always been football.

Nfl is not even a sport, it is a tv show, the nfl is not even in the olympic games.

People who watch the nfl just watch commercials and replays. There are close to 13 minutes of action in an nfl tv show after you remove the bizillion commercials and replays.

Nfl does not even use a ball, a ball is a sphere, that thing being thrown is a vesica piscis.

Rugby, canadian, and australian use an egged ball, that is still round. So it qualifies as a ball.

On the other hand, nfl uses a vesica piscis.

+6 billion people call the sport of the world "football".

If you want to get a brain injury, join the nfl.

If you want to get an attractive body (the perfect natural male body), play real football. Just compare the bodies of the football world cup players and the bodies of the nfl (oversized).
this! Thumbs up!

Yes I agree but the point is that it all translates into some variant of kick, foot, ball, etc.

The US I believe is one of a few nations that uses the word soccer which doesn't mean anything in relation to the game itself. Its a mangling of the word association.
