Ok I can't believe I missed the Belgian games. These young lads have yet to concede a goal other than a penalty! If it want for that unfortunate foul, hear guys would have a squeaky clean record. That's utterly amazing.

I'm starting to get nervous for the US. But how do you think the Belgians would fare against the US, then the Argentinians and after that quite possibly, the Dutch?

My guess:
Beating the US: 80%
Beating Argentina 40%
Beating Netherlands: 10%

I was calling Belgium back in late 2012...they have a lot of players I like...but honestly, they've yet to impress as a unit in this WC despite going 3-0-0. US could beat them, as much as it pains me to say it. 60/40, maybe 55/45 Belgium IMO

The game where they played Algeria, I watched that one from start to finish. I picked Algeria to win/draw/lose by 1 in the ESPN Streak For The Cash contest I've been semi-addicted to for a few years. I assumed loss by one. Loss by one occurred...but it could've easily been draw or even outright win for ALG. ALG might've been the most impressive team in the group.

The US can beat them if they play like they did today.

By "they" I assume you mean Belgium...because the US played horribly today. But so did Belgium.

Doesn't Belgium have all their primary players?

We are missing Jozy Altidore (and Landon Donovan).

Belgium has been considered to be a team that can go far in this tournament.

Harrier thinks that the Belgians are beatable, but there can be no doubt that USA is the underdog.

That is OK - Americans like to do things the hard way.

You know we lost to Belgium last year 4-2....I think a 'friendly' and I'm sure we know why we lost. Some think Belgium is the dark horse of the tournament. Good individual players but they may be a little weak at the back. Could be an opening for us.

And just a note. Fellaini was asked before the Cup what was the expectation for Belgium. He said if they get first or second they will KNOW they will face a big team next which would be Germany or Portugal and then goes on to say and in 'one-off' games 'you never know what will happen'. Wonder what he's thinking now. He will now have to say. 'Hello USAl'

Belgian fan here. Despite us having 9 points, most people here (including the press) are not exactly thrilled by our style of football. We have a couple of world-class players, yes, but nonetheless our play is slow, tedious, lackadaisical...
It's just not very sexy, the way we play.

Everybody here is kind of hoping that the game against the USA will be the real starting point for our team and that our players will finally live up to their (over-hyped ?) reputation.

Yes, the US didnt play horrible so much as they where schooled. 6 of one half dozen though ...
But the US has played well enough and battled well enough this tournament to know if THAT Belgium team shows up and the US plays they have a good chance of beating them. The Belgians havent overly impressed me this tournament which is odd considering I did expect them to be a dark horse as they have some top drawer players.
