There are not any FIFA laws and regulations about human rights atrocities—but there are plenty of FIFA Rules and Laws relating to corruption. Any corruption will be a police and court matter for those involved.

As for a Boycott of the 2018 World that would be an individual decision made by nations and would also depend on what Putin does next in relation to Ukraine.

Lets also not forget that Putin is now alleged to have ordered the murder in London of Alexander Litvinenko in London using radioactive poison in 2006, which is a very serious charge and there is to be a Public Inquiry in to the entire affair shortly which may well name Putin.

Alexander Litvinenko: public inquiry to be held into spy's death | World news | theguardian.com

I am sorry, but you can't have radioactive material being transported to London and used to kill a man, and you can't have planes being shot down and you can't just invade countries and expect to host events such as the World Cup. Then again after the KGB (now the FSB) which Putin was a member of, FIFA itself is probably one of the next most secretive, unaccountable and even corrupt organisation in existence.

It would be my preference too among the bidders. I think they came on second ahead of US in the voting process, but if indeed there was bribery involved, who knows what country those involved would have voted for. If they hold another voting with US and Australia competing, I think it's going to be tight.

Well it looks like World Cup football in 2022 will be played not in the summer but in the winter in Qatar. Looks like it will be November and December if the decision holds. And if it does come off Europe's regular season leagues will be affected due to that change. Going to be interesting how Europe is going to 'compensated'. Supposedly over 7 out of 10 players who go to the WC are from European teams so the move of playing dates really impacts those teams.

Thing is though looking back did they really expect the WC to come off with the temps there in Qatar? We know the players are probably in fabulous shape cardiologically but at the the time the vote was taken to have it in the high heat in Qatar I'd be curious what the doctors said about the environment's effect on players.

Looks like a winter 2022 World Cup is going to happen, with the final to be played on December 18. It will take place over 28 days, instead of the normal 32.

What a complete crock of sh*t, its going to ruin a whole EPL season, they can stick their World Cup where the sun doesn't shine, this is going to be the biggest non event of this century. I've had it with FIFA and UEFA, international football is the pits.
