Italy 3x2 Brazil in the 1982 WC was epic in the unforgivable category for me. It was an excellent game too. I cried like a baby on that loss; that Brazilian squad was amazing.

In person it was the USMNT vs Colombia in the 1994 World Cup at the Rose Bowl. My brother and I were seated on the side where Andres Escobar scored the [deadly] own goal- to his left if he's looking at the goal. That match was an unbelievable experience.

-Cheers.

The best match I've witnessed was France's ass whooping of Brazil in the 98 WC final.

The beginning of the legendary career of the GREATEST Midfielder of all times, Zinedine Zidane.

You do realize most Brazilian players spent the night before the game up, waiting for Ronaldo to return from the hospital after his mysterious seizure break down, at least, that's the version that seemed to have prevailed. Although, there were so many other versions... that game was so weird, Brazil was clear favorites to win, as clear as Germany were against Argentina in the last WC, yet their players did not come to the game that day. Not the way they were supposed to anyway.

France would have whooped them regardless of Ronaldo - for a few years back then they were without doubt the best team in the world.

They were not the favorites to win that WC though, I remember seeing quite a few articles, even from France, considering their win a major upset.

In 2 seconds, the first article I found back then says Brazil was favorite to win.

That was also pretty much the same team that lost to Senegal in the following WC in 2002 and got kicked out in the group stage without scoring a goal. Does not qualify for best team of the world in my book.

For a few years they were 98-2000. My opinion though you might think different.
