I tend to follow players more than teams though. Right now my favs are raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.

In countries with high soccer popularity and strong leagues like Europe, South America, Mexico, people tend to follow their passion club only. In the US and and countries like Australia, India, China, soccer fans tend to follow popular European clubs and international competitions involving major clubs and/or national teams, in addition to their domestic club if they have one they like. As the MLS becomes stronger and increase popularity, the US may see a shift over the years.

That seems like quite a few Americans I have met, and I can understand why!

You're talking about two of the world's most well known and famous clubs. Hardly a shock the game had such great attendance. Meanwhile Inter vs. Roma in Philadelphia did not even sell half of Lincoln Financial Field. Massive amount of empty seats.

To be fair, prices are pretty high.. even in Italy many Serie A games have poor attendance

So, you're telling me, that if Vidal gets sold to Man Utd, or Pogba gets sold to Chelsea, would you be fans of those teams, while still being a Liverpool fan?

No. Liverpool is the only team that I support to the fullest no matter what. But my favorite players are on that team.

The other teams I watch because I have other favorite players but if it was them against Liverpool then I support Liverpool all the way.
