Unbelievably the new season kicks off next week.

I can remember when the old league always started in September, but that probably says more about my age.

As far as a taster goes we had the traditional opener today, the Charity Shield, which is played between the League Champions and the winners of the FA Cup.

Here's what happened;

BBC Sport - Arsenal 3-0 Manchester City

Good win for Arsene's guys....now really Arsene has got to win something this year!..;-)...
Saw Liverpool a few times this summer. Not sure how Rodgers feels about Suarez being gone but I think he should be happy with how the team is w/o the great scorer. Going to be an interesting season. Can't wait for the diving, scoring, cheering, singing, tackling etc etc. Good luck to all supporters of your team when you come to greet 'Pool'! But I'd be lying when it comes to getting points....we all know how tough it is, eh??...;-)...

It was City not Utd, and to be fair as warm up games go the Community Shield at Wembley is a fairly big stage, whilst the shield has a long history dating back to 1908 and beyond.

Personally I think Arsenal look good, as do Liverpool and Man Utd, so it should be an interesting season.

I have no idea.. I really will have to decide after a few games, because it seems so open at the moment.. there are 5 teams going for the title IMO, with Man Utd, city and Chelsea probably the favourites

The EPL is surely the most interesting league in Europe this year. Is NBC sports the only one with rights to broadcast it this season?

Yeah, in the other leagues it seems that Juventus, Bayern and Real Madrid are strong favourites to win their leagues..

It was Utd who won the made up trophy that I was referring to not City.

How do Utd look good ? Theyve not changed their squad much at all.

Herrerra is a big addition, though his name isn't well known yet.

Biggest change of all is LVG in, Moyesy out
