MLS needs broadcast channel games more than those other sports.

You're JUST talking about the Playoffs, right?

(I think ESPN will wise up and start showing the "BCS" bowls and playoffs on ABC again at some point)

My local MLB and NBA teams broadcast all their games on cable-only channels.

Now that I think of it, the NBA does have weekend games on ABC, but it's only a handful of "marquee" games.

What volleyballs?

Telstars were used in the 1970s, right?

Oh... that explains it.

There's no independent channels to show them, at least?

Back in the day, games were televised over the air on an independent channel. But now the team has a contract with Fox Sports.

What about expansion into Mexico? Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo and Juarez are all big border cities and none of them have a Liga MX (top Mexican league) club. Tijuana has a Liga MX team, but I think the city is big enough to support both a Liga MX and MLS team.
