I'll never be able to afford a trip to the other side of the planet to see live action from the next two men's tournaments. Let's not even mention the corruption involved in those two countries being awarded those games.
Since I wasn't into world football the last time the World Cup was in North America in '94, I'm looking forward to attending this years women's tournament in Canada. The tickets are very affordable and I'm planning on attending three games for about 100 USD per stadium pass. I'm still unhappy that they'll be played on plastic pitches. This is pure double standard that would never happen in the men's tournament.
I live in an area devoid of much live soccer, so it's a treat to have this event a two hour drive from me.
Even though I'm having a hard time reconciling my love of soccer with my hatred for FIFA and its evil corporate overlords, I'm still planning on enjoying this year's tournament in Canada.
