I always wondered.. Do each clubs from different countries have their own style of play? Like clubs in the EPL do they play differently from La Liga clubs or Ligue 1?
To a large extent, I'm sure. But that also depends on the new teams for each year, beit from promotion/relegation in other countries, or expansion in MLS.
There are a lot of differences. South American players for example have had a lot of success in most European leagues but look at the Premier League history... You won't find any important South American(although in the past 10 years they're slowly getting importance in England). That's due to style of playing: South Americans are usually good at dribbling and English teams play in a style that gives much more importance to passes, crossings and long shoots.
It all varies these days - especially in Europe. People play different styles in different regions never mind different countries. Look at Germany against Brazil - some of the purest football I've ever seen. Even look at Arsenal and Swansea compared to Stoke and Chelsea. Or even Raheem Sterling compared to James Milner. Then one off's like Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Then close yet contrasted countries like Holland and Denmark or France and Germany or Italy and Spain.
English football hasn't been 'long ball' for 25 years, even then it was only a handful of teams that used that particular tactic (Watford, Wimbledon)
If youre talking non top teams and like league teams, youre wrong. Have you watched a league game? All they ever do is pump and follow.
But I like it, its my favorite form of football.
Its why I grew to like Man Utd back then..I mean its nice to watch Arsenal play pretty football but at the end of the day put the damn ball at the back of the net. I just cant watch arsenal string endless passes together when theyre a goal down and its 75 min. Its like, wtf are you doing?
How would you characterize english football now? From what I see, its still fast paced and direct..maybe not long balls, but still up the middle and quick to attack. Its what makes it the best league in the world.

Yes I watch both Crawley Town and Maidstone United regularly and the may not be 'great' players but the don't deploy 'long ball' tactics. I agree it is fast paced though, and although (currently) the very best teams are not English the English league certainly has the most entertaining games, what Barcelona do with their 'tippy tappy' football is certainly very admirable but it is ultimately as dull as dishwater to watch.
