I'm used to seeing old washed up ex-stars coming to MLS as "legends," but Wayne Rooney is anything but washed up... What gives?

Hes out of shape and quickly en route to the end but I still think hes a great signing. If he can stay fit and not get battered too much I think hell bang in the goals in MLS.

He has ALWAYS been out of shape, like a lot of young English talents he wasted his natural ability because he couldn't leave the drink, **** and fatty foods alone :-)

LOL not sure if you're being facetious or not, but it has quite the different meaning in the U.S.

MLS is a very poor league, there should be no reason why he wont bang them in.

Rooney seemed to be fading rapidly. He's 32 now and I suspect won't last long even in the MLS. Like Clint Dempsey, he probably should have retired last year and gone into coaching or some other profession. (Compare to the league's leading scorer: Josef Martínez, aged 25.)

Quite frankly, after watching Martinez play twice this season against Orlando, I can say I don't think he belongs in the MLS at all. His game is on an entirely different level.

Rooney has done decently well thus far. He's clearly been a big boost to the team morale, and presumably to attendance.

Yes he has. DC United has been winning with attractive football since Rooney arrived and the stadium is fantastic.

But haters gonna hate, knee-jerk haters of Rooney and MLS.
