Glad to see that Liverpool won. I was worried they'd get a draw...which is what they did all too often last season.

Also glad to see that Man Utd only managed a draw...and what about Hull pulling out a win?

Great first weekend.

It's a long season, so you can't put too much into early results, of course. That said, I couldn't help but notice Spurs' loss to 'Boro in the first fixture in light of the hype that club is receiving.

They lose Keane and could still possibly lose Berbatov...so not really sure why they get so much hype.

And today they lose to Sunderland. Horrid start.

Liverpool was close to a draw against Sunderland last week and very close to a loss today against Boro...but they win both and now have 6 points rather than 1. That could be HUGE for them later....

True, but points gathered in the first few games count just as much in the standings as though won in the last portion of the schedule.

Woo-hoo! Chelsea didn't win today....unfortunately, Liverpool also had a draw (but they were on the road)...so the Reds are still tied with Chelsea at the top with 7 pts.

What an upside down world. Who expected Liverpool and Chelsea to be good?
