You can find a following in any major city. It has no traditional heartlands.

Anywhere there's a large Hispanic population.

i am from st. louis so i am a little biased, but you would not beleive how popular and how much tradition soccer has here. Taylor Twellman, Steve Ralston, Brian McBride. most of the players from the 1952 world cup team were from st. louis. and SLU has the most NCAA soccer championships in

Northern New Jersey has a pretty big soccer scene

We have and had lots of Euro and hispanic immigrants, and their traditions have spilled over to the next generation

We have produced lots of players that are good enough to play in Europe, probably more so than any other part of the country

It would be fantastic if Dallas did have strong soccer routes as it is one of the places im looking at going too. I would also consider salt lake city. The main thing is I really want to go somewhere a bit different to what i'm used too, I live in Ireland btw, and bathe myself in a different culture and way of life. I do not want to go to the states to hang out with Irish ppl lol.

As for what level I'd be looking to coach, I'm not particularly fussy about it. I have coached kids over here before and dont see that as being a problem, but would not be against testing myself either.

And thank you all for the replies.

At the scholastic level anyway, you'll find organized soccer is pretty common in upper-middle-class suburbs nationwide. I would guess you'll also find organized clubs where there's a substantial Hispanic population, which includes basically all major metro areas in Texas, Arizona and California.
