Seattle, St. Louis and L.A. would be the frontrunners, IMO.

I can't speak for St. Louis. But as a Los Angeles native I can tell you the game is VERY big here. It has really set into this area in a way I cannot describe. Heck, I grew up playing basketball and (American) football and hated soccer. Now I have been converted! I love the game and can't wait for my son to get a little bigger so I can get him playing.
I honestly think the NFL screwed up when they left Los Angeles. Soccer has stepped into that void and is flourishing.

we have enough of a market to support TWO teams. and a womens one as well.
plus we have tons and tons of amateur, teen and kiddie leagues. and we have hispanics, arabs, africans. they love FUTBOL!

Don't quote me here, but I remember reading somewhere that the Dallas area has one of the largest youth soccer programs around.

On the women's side I think a strong case could be made for Chapel Hill, NC being the capital....
