Ireland are an avg team not a good team IMHO. They got ripped off against the French but they rose to the occasion and nothing more. If it was a normal qualifier it would have been 2 - 0 result in France easily and their qualifying campaign shows that. The Irish team is full of avg players that think they are superstars but they have no passion for the International game.

To say the Irish play without passion for internationals is just silly.
Significant nations not to qualify: China and India (I know they fancy other sports more, but why these hugely populated nations fail to see the opportunity soccer provides, and how easy qualifying can be in Asia is beyond me).
Ireland much better than Eygpt, I would say Turkey is too.
The goalkeepers in Africa are really really below par, defending is terrible. African team are exciting and inventive in attack, but horrifying and ineffective in defence.
