I hate diving in soccer and find some of the antics in this video very irritating in soccer.
With that said, I think Jim Rome is a tool! He's one unatheltic, Unintelligent, joker and I would love to see his sorry butt on a soccer field... What a fraud!
Injuries are faked in all sports. Not that I defend it. FIFA needs to have a committee that reviews all FIFA sanctioned games and suspends and fines divers.
Jim Rome is a complete joke. He knows very little about sports.
Soccer is by far my favorite sport, but yes the faking of injuries is one of the few things that frustrates me about it. But there are negatives to every sport and the pluses far outweigh the minuses. At least for me they do. Others can feel free to follow whichever sport they want. I'll be watching soccer.
As far as scoreless ties go, that really doesn't bother me. I love the sport itself, not how many "scores" there are. And the fact that it is such a low-scoring sport makes every goal count and also ensures that in almost every game it is going to be dramatic coming down to the end with either a tie score or a team fighting to protect a one-goal lead or fighting to tie the score.
Rioting is more to do with the countries those are happening in, not because of the sport itself. If American football was as popular as soccer world-wide, I am sure there would still be riots. It's not the sport that is the issue here.
"Only in soccer can a coach walk right over and punch the referee." No, not really - that is not exactly allowed. Oh, and I find it ironic that this link - Brazilian Soccer Coach Pulls A Woody Hayes - compares what he did with Woody Hayes (an American).
LOL
P.S. Talk about old news - that incident happened more than a year ago. Still relevant I guess because so many Americans feel so threatened by this sport. It's really simple - if you don't like soccer, ignore it and follow sports you do like.
There is also a political debate when it comes to soccer. Many conservatives in America believe that soccer is a socialist sport from Europe, and they won't dare watch it!

Its true. It gives poor kids a chance to become stars and to become mega rich
A bit like basketball, football or baseball in the USA
