As an Englishman I do not want the USA to take up football (soccer) seriously as you with all your money would be able to pay huge wages therefore all the best players would come over. You would also have all the best grounds, and within a short time would dominate the football world, we wouldn't stand a chance.
So as much as I like America please stick to your own games.
PS This is a bit tongue in cheek but it has some truth in it.

The MLS is a well managed league and likely stick to have salary cap so that we could avoid an EPL situation where there are only 4 clubs competing for hardware.

Soccer isn't a British game. It is a world game.

Golf by contrast was completely formed in Britain - does that mean Americans that play gold are unpatriotic?
