"Out of 50 states, South Carolina ranks 48th in “Average Freshman Graduation Rate” (AFGR), a measure of freshman who go on to receive full high school diplomas, according to a new report by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization based in Atlanta GA that helps government and education leaders in its 16 member states work together to advance education."

South Carolina’s public schools ranks 48th in high school graduation rate : The Beaufort Tribune Newspaper, Beaufort SC Newspapers

The 48 v 51 thing can be explained by the fact that the data used (above) looks at Freshman entering schools, while the #51 ranking takes in all students entering the first grade.

Okay, you win. Scream it to all your northern friends -- the schools are horrible, the people are ignorant! No one eats healthy food, they don't drive hybrids, there aren't enough bike paths! They go to church ewwww!

OMG! Don't even consider relocating; stay where you are!

(Oh, but then I guess I would win after all. )

Hey, I'm a Charlestonian.

Most people (yankees) from the North (most from this area don't know SC- they know Fla and Arizona) who go South can be divided into 3 groups:

Wealthy (or they thought they were) retirees who live in gated communities so they can have the weather but not the 3rd world conditions.

Drifters who heard the hype and will stay... for a while.

People forced to relocate there for jobs. Although SC has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation- far higher that most parts of yankeeland- so that group is declining and those there now are pretty well stuck.

They go to church up here, too.

But they just don't burn Qurans, or eat black folks in their sermons.

From reading the the OP's posts in another thread, I think this is either a very successful troll, or the thoughts of a very unpleasant person. Probably a sweet combination of the two.
