Why is your Senator messing with Alaskan voters? He is funding a recount for joe miller, he is disenfranchising over 8,000 Alaskan voters.

Because he is a legend in his own mind, with visions of one day becoming king. Or at the least, Sarah P's playmate in 2012. Sooner or later, he will come knocking on Miller's door, looking for a return on his favors. Because he has no competition in SC, and thus he has no reason to be bothered with trying to improve the sorry economic condition of his own state. Most of all, because he's a jerk. You can keep him up there, we don't want him back.

How is it that you consider a recount to be disenfranchising to anyone?

Well, I think it wouldn't be too hard to argue that Miller is trying to deprive many people of their right to vote, but let's just cut to the chase. Even without the 8000 votes Murcowski (oops did I misspell that, I mean Murkowski) still wins by 2000+ votes. This would lead any reasonable person to question why Jim DeMints name is being mentioned more often in the Anchorage Daily News (and other Alaskan papers) than it is in South Carolina. .... it isn't to difficult to connect those dots.

this wasn't an answer to my question.
how is recounting votes anywhere, for any reason, potentially disenfranchising to anyone?

But he is not JUST asking for a recount, he is challenging that some votes should not have been counted at all. AND, he IS NOT doing that based on proof of foul-play, he is doing it claiming the election officials did not follow the "letter of the law". That is not only disingenuous, if successful he would also be depriving those people the right to vote. That would be disenfranchising.
But, the point I was making, that you failed to comment on at all, is that it wouldn't matter anyway. He would still lose. So what is DeMint doing in the middle of it?

He's got a lot of cash in his warchest to use, since the dems in SC couldn't find a democratic senate nominee with an IQ higher than a rock to run against him.
